About
notraced is a practical resource for developers and teams navigating privacy in the age of AI. Every article starts from a real situation, not from a regulation.
The articles are written under the byline Shephard. The work is practitioner notes from someone who builds software for a living and got tired of watching teams stumble into the same AI privacy mistakes. The regulations are dense. The stakes are real. The guidance elsewhere is either too vague to be useful or too legal to be actionable.
The site is operated by Sam Shephard. The controller's full identity and its legal responsibilities are set out in the Privacy Policy. For editorial correspondence, privacy requests, or anything else, use the contact page — pick the category that fits and we will route the message from there.
What the Site is (and is not)
The Site publishes editorial articles and operates three free, browser-based tools: AI Data Flow Checker, AI Act Obligation Scanner, and Privacy Policy Generator. The tools run entirely in your browser — no data is sent to any server, no signup is required, and your answers stay with you.
notraced is not a law firm. It does not provide legal advice and does not form any attorney-client relationship with its readers. Everything on the Site is general information. See the Disclaimer for the full notice, and the Terms of Service for the rest of the small print.
Editorial standards
Every article is dated twice (Published and Last reviewed). Every regulatory claim is linked to a primary source where possible. Errors are fixed when pointed out — let us know via the contact page (Editorial category). The site does not accept paid placements and does not run sponsored posts.
